The Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association is an environment-based non-profit volunteer organization that has been working on the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula for 20 years. Our goals are to build community capacity and commitment and to achieve concrete goals in conservation and economic development. We facilitate a range of environmental projects on the Peninsula from protecting streams and wetlands to irradicating invasive species to producing a Climate Action Plan for the Municipality of the Northern Bruce Peninsula. We have focused on the protection of endangered species, such as the magnificent Red Headed Woodpecker. Additionally, we provide outreach in the community. We have held kids’ festivals for forests and climate, during the summer we host Bayside Astronomy, a free program that celebrates and teaches people about dark skies and gives you the chance to look at the stars through professional telescopes, and our EcoAdventures programming takes people hiking, caving, snowshoeing, canoeing, and birding while learning to appreciate the natural environment around us. We care about our community and want to continue providing these experiences, we appreciate everyone's support towards our projects to protect this beautiful place we call home. Despite all that the last few years have thrown us our community still manages to push environmental awareness and action to the forefront!
